Acute gas shotage in winter feared. 

The minister for petroleum and NaturlResources,Dr Asim Hussian,has warned that the country
would face unprecedented gas load shedding in the country would face unprecedented gas load
shedding in the coming winter.Talking to reports after distributing awards among employees
of Attock oil Refinery at a function titled`Long sservice Awards ceremoney for 2009-19 hhe
said that pakistan hasexpedited constrction of iran-pakistan(Ip)gas pipline project andit
ewould be completed in due course of time.asim said that threr would be there would be acute
shortage of gasin januaryand measur.are being taken to overcome to the problem.The minster
said that the government abolishedsubsidy on on petrol and diesl and has linked the ptroliem
products pices with internationalmarket He said that recent increase in the pricese of POL
products was the reasult ofdepreciation in pakistans currency against doler.He said that the
government is making all-outefforts to reduced gas load shedding for CNG sector from two and
half days to two days in punjab.The minster appreciated the efforts of Attok Group of Companies
for its achivements in the oiland gas sector.Shuaib A Mailk,Reigonalchief Exective Officer
(CEO)of ARL ,and senior managment besides a large number of ARL staff attened the ceremoney.
